Connect ChatGPT or Claude (no API key)

Connect ChatGPT, Claude, or Claude Code to Supero by signing in. No API key needed.

Overview

Add https://mcp.supero.dev/mcp to your assistant as an MCP server. The assistant opens a Supero window where you sign in (or create an account), choose what it may do, and click Allow. After that it can build, preview, and publish Supero apps for you.
This is the same set of build tools that editors reach with an API key at api.supero.dev/mcp/v1/messages (Connect Your AI Editor over MCP). Key-based setups keep working. Use sign-in for chat assistants, and a key for editors that need one.

Before you start

  • •ChatGPT: a paid plan, on chatgpt.com. On Business and Enterprise plans an admin may need to allow custom connectors first.
  • •Claude: any plan on claude.ai or Claude Desktop. On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner adds the connector once for the organization, and members then click Connect.
  • •Claude Code: the claude command-line tool.
  • •Supero: an account at app.supero.dev, or create one in the sign-in window.

Access options

The approval page shows the account you are signed in as, your workspace (your Supero domain), and the assistant asking for access. If the account is wrong, click Switch account. Then choose where the assistant may work:
OptionWhat the assistant can doWho can choose it
An existing projectWork in that project only. Requests about other projects are refused.Workspace admins, and project admins for their own project
A new projectCreate one project when you ask for an app, then work in it.Workspace admins
Whole workspaceWork in any project in the workspace and create new ones.Workspace admins, from ChatGPT or Claude
The "Let it publish apps" option decides whether the assistant may put an app live on the internet. Previews work either way.

ℹ️ Apps Supero doesn't recognize

ChatGPT, Claude, and Claude Code are recognized by name. For any other app the approval page shows a warning. Continue only if you started the connection yourself.

ChatGPT

  1. 1

    Turn on Developer mode

Open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.

  2. 2

    Create the connector

In Apps & Connectors, click Create. Name: Supero. MCP server URL: https://mcp.supero.dev/mcp. Authentication: OAuth. Click Create.

Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)

  2. 2

Claude Code

bash
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http supero https://mcp.supero.dev/mcp
Start claude, type /mcp, select supero, and choose Authenticate. Your browser opens the same sign-in and approval page. Claude Code runs on your computer, so it can work in a new or an existing project, never the whole workspace.

Check the connection

Ask the assistant: "Which Supero account and project am I connected to?" It answers with your workspace, your role, and what the connection allows. If it asks you to sign in again, the connection did not complete; remove the connector and add it again.

Your first app

Describe the app. For example:
text
Build me a restaurant ordering app on Supero: a menu with categories and prices,
a cart, and orders with status. Give me the preview link when it's ready.
The assistant plans the app, creates a project (or uses the one you picked), saves the data model, builds the UI, and deploys a preview at a link such as https://preview-<name>.supero.live, with sample data and working sign-up and login. A preview expires after 30 minutes. Ask the assistant to make the app live for a permanent URL; it can do that only if you allowed publishing. The project also appears in the Supero console under Projects.
Tool calls and publishes draw from your plan's Power allowance, the same as other platform activity. See plans and billing.

Manage connections

See every connected assistant at app.supero.dev/oauth/connections. Use Change to switch between a project and the whole workspace, or Disconnect to end the connection. After you disconnect, the assistant loses access and asks you to reconnect the next time it needs Supero.
  • •To turn publishing on for a connection, reconnect from your assistant and tick "Let it publish apps".
  • •Resetting your Supero password ends all your assistant connections.
  • •If your role changes and no longer covers the access you gave, the connection ends and you reconnect.
  • •Each connection has daily limits on builds and on publishing. When one is reached, the assistant tells you when it resets.

Other MCP clients

Any client that implements the MCP authorization specification can connect to https://mcp.supero.dev/mcp. Discovery documents are at https://mcp.supero.dev/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource and https://mcp.supero.dev/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server. Clients identify themselves with a Client ID Metadata Document or by dynamic registration, and must use PKCE with S256. A request without a token gets 401 with a WWW-Authenticate header that points to the discovery document.
